Here are some updates from those on the front lines!

Acts 4 Providing for those in need in Greater Waterbury: clothing, furniture, school uniforms, etc

Currently they are doing a winter clothing drive. (coats, hats, gloves, scarves, blankets, etc) Items can be dropped off at their facility.

Young Life a local ministry for teenagers in Southbury, Middlebury, Woodbury, and Bethlehem

Community Chapel Ambassadors: Joe and Nora Perreault (High School) Vanessa Daddario (Middle School)

the latest: High School Club meets every Wednesday and is averaging 50 kids per week. There is also a weekly Sunday night small group bible study. Middle School Club meets monthly averaging 35 kids and has other events during the month including Cabin Time, a monthly small group time just for girls.

the latest: each year The Community Chapel sponors dozens of local families by purchasing Christmas gifts and delivering them to grateful families.

Connecticut Coalition for The Congo: The C&MA churches of Connecticut have partnered to support missionaries in The Republic of Congo (Brazzaville and Pointe Noire) Jay and Beverly Bellamy and Ron and Ruth Julian and Barb Sorensen. 10% of your giving to the Great Commission Fund goes directly to the support their ministries.

the latest: The Julians spent May and June in the US to attend their son Travis' graduation from Taccoa Falls College and wedding on June 4th. Travis and his wife Kaylyn are moving to Senegal in August, where they will both be teaching at Dakar Academy. Their other son Brandon spent the month of June in Indonesia participating in a soccer ministry to build bridges between Muslims and Christians. Ron and Ruth and Hannah returned to Congo Jun 9th and Letecia followed on Jun 23rd.

Connecticut Coalition for Thailand: The C&MA churches of Connecticut have formed a partnership to support Janice Quinlan a C&MA missionary in Thailand and her work at the Northeastern Bible Seminary 10% of your giving to the Great Commission Fund goes directly to support her ministries. Support may expand in the future to cover more missionaries and ministries in Thailand.

the latest: Janice Quinlan returned to Thailand in June after spending several weeks touring New England and visiting Community Chapel for Missions Conference. Pray for God's protection for Pastor Doug Rowse and his family, New River Community Church, who are going to Thailand 7/15-7/29/11, spending one week in Bangkok and one week at NBS with Janice. There are opportunities for a 2012 missions trip to Thailand. Interested? contact Kathy for more information.

Kenya: The Community Chapel supports Paul & Stephanie Whitney are working among the Kuria people group with The Navigators and Wes & Jane Loewer, who serve at Rosslyn Academy in Nairobi.

Continue to pray for Stephanie's vertigo attacks that have been increasing recently after subsiding for a while. She and Paul will be spending three months in the US starting on June 28th, and Stephanie will be seeing a Dr. at Johns Hopkins in August. They also plan to visit Community Chapel in September.

Continue to pray for Wes and Jane Loewer and their family as they continue their US tour this summer visiting Wes' family after spending a few weeks in CT. Pray for Jane's upcoming opportunity to teach biology at Roslyn Academy, and for Wes' continued ministry to his students, especially those who are Muslim. Pray also for Elizabeth as she returns to Wheaton this Fall as a sophomore.

Other Missionary Updates

Praise: Alex and Julie Zell and their family have been accepted to pastor a CMA church in Geneva, Ohio. Pray for their transition from ministering in Brazil.

Praise:Bill Trinidad had great recovery from open heart surgery in March. Pray for God's direction and provision for The Village Chapel, and for Bill to find a job to help support his family.
